Theme A dvancing Plant Science through Taiwan–Thailand Partnership: From Fundamental Discovery to Sustainable Agriculture Date 29–30 October 2026

Venue Rice Science Center Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus Nakhon Pathom, Thailand

Jointly organized by • Rice Science Center, Kasetsart University, Thailand • Institute of Plant and Microbial Biology (IPMB), Academia Sinica, Taiwan

Background and Rationale Taiwan and Thailand are both recognized as regional leaders in agricultural and plant science research, with complementary strengths in genomics, molecular biology, biotechnology, plant breeding, and sustainable crop production. As global agriculture faces unprecedented challenges arising from climate change, emerging diseases, food security, and the need for sustainable production systems, stronger international scientific collaboration has become increasingly important.

The Taiwan–Thailand Plant Science Partnership Symposium (TPSP Symposium 2026) is jointly organized by the Rice Science Center, Kasetsart University, Thailand, and the Institute of Plant and Microbial Biology (IPMB), Academia Sinica, Taiwan, with the aim of establishing a long-term scientific partnership between the two institutions and strengthening research collaboration between Taiwan and Thailand.

The symposium will provide a platform for leading scientists, early-career researchers, and graduate students to exchange recent advances in plant biology, genomics, breeding technologies, plant–microbe interactions, biotechnology, and precision agriculture. In addition to scientific presentations, the symposium will facilitate discussions on future collaborative research projects, researcher exchange programs, joint grant applications, and capacity building for the next generation of plant scientists.

It is expected that this symposium will serve as the foundation for a sustainable Taiwan–Thailand research network capable of generating innovative solutions for climate-resilient agriculture and contributing to global food security.
