On Wednesday 14 January 2015, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn visited Ban Yan Sue Border Patrol Police School, Kui Buri District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province, to observe the school's royally initiated projects, which include extra Thai and English language skills teaching and an organic Riceberry rice growing project in line with the Sufficiency Economy philosophy. The Rice Science Center has supported the project with Riceberry and Sin Lek rice seed since early 2014.

Her Royal Highness then observed the students' group packing Riceberry rice. Broken rice is processed and preserved into products such as khanom krok, thong muan rolls and Riceberry brown rice drink. On this occasion, she presented school supplies and nutritional supplements to young children at the Ban Yan Sue Child Development Center, which currently cares for 31 children. She then viewed information on Riceberry rice farming, traditional rice farming tools, and the rice mill she had given, which the community shares. Riceberry rice farming can now be extended to the community to grow, with the harvest sold back to the school for year-round consumption and the rest sold to bring income to the young farmers' group. On this occasion, she took Riceberry rice to sell at the Phufa shop.
A research team from the Rice Science Center took part in the royal reception, led by Dr. Siwarate Arikit, Assistant Director of the Rice Science Center, Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus. The Rice Science Center respectfully presented 15 kilograms each of Riceberry and Sin Lek rice seed, to be given on to Ban Yan Sue Border Patrol Police School for planting in the next crop.
