The rice field at the Kamphaeng Saen Agricultural Fair, carefully planted in patterns of the “map of Thailand, the Thai flag and Thai soldiers”, has now arrived at the important time of the harvest season.
This work is not only artistic beauty but also a way of conveying the knowledge and academic work of the Rice Science Center, which combined research on rice varieties, paddy management and the diversity of Thai rice and communicated it in a form the public can concretely access.
The flourishing rice panicles were carefully harvested to be used as quality seed and as rice for consumption, reflecting the value of the land, water, labor and agricultural science behind the success of this work.
The atmosphere of the winter rice harvest is a picture of happiness that farmers wait for, a reward for their dedication, and proof that academic knowledge, when shared appropriately, can grow in harmony with the way of life and culture of Thai farmers.
The land of Thailand is thus not only beautiful symbolically but also rich in knowledge, life, food and the hopes of all Thai people.
