On 16 June 2026, the Director of the Rice Science Center assigned Dr. Siriphat Ruengphayak, researcher at the Rice Science Center, Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus, to welcome faculty and staff from the Faculty of Culinary Arts, Dusit Thani College, on a study visit at the Rice Science Center, Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus, Nakhon Pathom Province.
This study visit is part of teaching in the food technology and creative cooking program, which aims to develop learners' knowledge and understanding of food product development, food quality management and adding value from agricultural raw materials. 31 faculty members from the Faculty of Culinary Arts took part.
Dr. Siriphat Ruengphayak gave a talk on the mission of the Rice Science Center, rice breeding research, development of quality rice varieties, seed production, commercial use of research results, and raising the quality and standards of Thai rice with scientific knowledge and innovation.
The group also visited the Rice Science Center's research plots and variety test plots and learned about the rice research and development process, from variety selection and quality seed production to building on it into food products and adding value to agricultural produce, important knowledge that can link to food product development in the future.
This study visit is another activity reflecting cooperation among educational institutions in exchanging knowledge on agriculture, food and innovation, to promote developing capable personnel and build understanding of the role of research in sustainably developing the country's food and agricultural industries.
