On 7 July 2026, Dr. Siriphat Ruengphayak, researcher, Dr. Kitti Wanyaporn, researcher, and Mr. Suman Hoimala, agricultural officer of the Rice Science Center, welcomed 30 rice seed producers and sellers from Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi and Phetchaburi Provinces, led by Ms. Kannika Sinuanmak, Director of the Ratchaburi Rice Seed Center, and team, who visited and studied rice breeding and DNA testing of Thai rice for export at the Rice Science Center, Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus.
This study visit was organized under the 2026 training project for rice seed producers and sellers of the Ratchaburi Rice Seed Center, to build knowledge and capability among the network of rice seed producers and sellers so they can produce and distribute quality rice seed to standard and answer farmers' needs effectively.
On this occasion, the Rice Science Center's researchers lectured and exchanged knowledge on modern rice breeding, applying biotechnology, and testing rice varieties by DNA techniques, to build confidence in the quality and correctness of Thai rice varieties, and to support developing rice seed production systems that meet standards and can sustainably support export.
This study visit builds a cooperation network between research agencies and rice seed producers, helping raise the quality of the country's rice seed production and further increase the competitiveness of Thai rice in the world market.
