Announcement of the Rice Science Center, Kasetsart University

The Rice Science Center, Kasetsart University, announced a job opening from 16 December 2024 to 15 January 2025, and the committee held interviews on 7 February 2025. The selection has now been completed, and the Rice Science Center announces the name of the selected candidate to start work as follows:

Re: Recruitment for the position of Researcher

Salary: 40,000 baht

Applicant qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Agronomy or another related field
• Experience or a thesis on plant root systems and soil microorganisms, including crop production physiology
• At least 1 year of research experience on rice
• At least 1 academic publication in an international journal related to root systems in cereals

Job description:

• Conduct research on the relationship among soil microbes, plants and the atmosphere in greenhouse gas emissions from rice paddies
• Analyze greenhouse gas quantities using a gas chromatograph and monitoring instruments, including analysis of greenhouse gases produced by plants (LI-COR Environmental)
• Study the physiological and molecular mechanisms of rice in relation to greenhouse gas emissions
• Breed rice to reduce greenhouse gas emissions using the Speed Breeding system
