Position: Research Assistant, 1 position
Organization: Plant Biotechnology and Precision Agriculture Innovation Research Team (APBT), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA)
Scope of work: The “Research Assistant” position is a full-time position of the Plant Biotechnology and Precision Agriculture Innovation Research Team (APBT) under the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). The position is for the project “Increasing Productivity of Nutritional Rice Production in Organic Farming Systems with Tailor-Made Rice Varieties and High-Quality Organic Fertilizer”. The selected candidate will be assigned to assist with various research activities under the project.
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for the research project as a research assistant
- Help carry out activities as required by the research project and plan work together with the research team
- Collect study data together with the research team
- Help support various activities within the research team
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in science or another related field
- Proficient in computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or statistical programs such as SPSS, STATA and R
- Good ability to write academic documents in Thai and English
- Highly responsible, disciplined, punctual, determined, patient, enthusiastic, loves learning, thinks systematically, works well in a team and under pressure, and has good interpersonal skills
- Knowledge and understanding of plant physiology principles, especially the study of rice growth, development and response to the environment
- Able to conduct experiments and collect test data, such as measuring growth rates, assessing plant quality and analyzing factors affecting production
- Skills in analyzing plant physiology data, including using software to analyze related experimental results
- Experience using scientific instruments related to plant physiology, such as water-transport measuring devices, gas analysis, microscopes and efficient irrigation systems
- Able to design and plan plant physiology experiments to increase rice yield and quality
