Kasetsart University and IRRI Sign an MOU to Jointly Develop High-Yielding, Climate-Resilient and Nutritious Rice Technologies

On 24 October 2025, Kasetsart University, represented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anuchai Pinyopummin, Vice President of Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus, and the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) of the Philippines, represented by Dr. Yvonne Pinto, Director General, jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to build scientific and academic cooperation on rice, at Grand Richmond Stylish Convention Hotel, Nonthaburi Province. Honored to witness the occasion were Dr. Kritsanapong Keeratikorn, Prof. Dr. Kornsorn Srikulnath, Prof. Dr. Apichart Vanavichit, Prof. Dr. Onanong Naivikul, Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanin Khongsila, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Rattanatubtimthong, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siwaret Arikit, Dr. Bjoern Ole Sass, and research teams from both institutions

The purpose of this cooperation signing ceremony is to promote the development, research and dissemination of innovative High-Yielding Rice Technologies, Climate-Smart Rice Technologies able to cope with climate change, and Healthier Rice Technologies with high nutritional value, which will be an important foundation for driving Thai rice development to keep pace with global change.

This cooperation is another important step in integrating scientific and technological knowledge between Kasetsart University and IRRI to sustainably raise rice research and innovation capacity, respond to the region's food security challenges, and help agriculture adapt to continuously changing climate.
