On 8 May 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siwaret Arikit, Director of the Rice Science Center, together with the center's research team, welcomed a research team from the International Rice Research Institute, who came to follow progress on joint rice research between the two agencies and discuss approaches to expanding academic and research cooperation in the future.
The delegation attended a meeting to exchange information on research, rice production technology, and approaches to developing innovation to meet agricultural and food security challenges under climate change, and also followed the results of joint research conducted at the Rice Science Center's site.
In addition, the two agencies discussed ways to build on cooperation in rice variety development, sustainable agricultural resource management, and applying modern technology and knowledge to raise Thailand's rice research capability to the international level.
This meeting and visit reflect the strong academic relationship and cooperation between the Rice Science Center and the International Rice Research Institute, which aim to jointly develop rice knowledge and innovation to build food security and sustainable agricultural development.
