Newton Fund: "The UK–Thailand Newton Collaboration Fund for Research and Innovation"
The Newton Fund is a program that uses the UK's research and innovation capacity to help develop the economies and support the social welfare of partner countries. Working together, both bilaterally and multilaterally, with a focus on developing research and innovation, can build closer relationships with participating countries. It also helps promote research excellence, which is an important factor in creating opportunities, collaboration and wider trade opportunities.
The Newton Fund is part of the UK's Official Development Assistance. The aim of the program is cooperation in developing science and innovation that helps develop the economies and welfare of developing countries. In its first year, the Newton Fund is expected to work in 15 countries: China, India, Brazil, South Africa, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Turkey, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Egypt and Kazakhstan.
