Rice Science Center, KU, and the APBT Team of BIOTEC, NSTDA, welcomed a study group from the Natural Farming Seed Selection and Development Project of the Wat Yannasangvararam Voramahawihan Agricultural Career Training and Development Center, under the royal initiative.
On 17 June 2026, Dr. Meechai Siangliw, a researcher of the APBT team, National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), and Mr. Suman Hoimala, agricultural officer of the Rice Science Center, Kasetsart University, welcomed 55 participants in the training project “Natural Farming Seed Selection and Development” from the Wat Yannasangvararam Voramahawihan Agricultural Career Training and Development Center, under the royal initiative, at the Rice Science Center, Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus, Nakhon Pathom Province.
This study visit gives farmers and interested members of the public a chance to learn on site about seed production, plant selection and breeding, and ways to store seed with quality, focusing on applying scientific knowledge, technology and innovation to develop seed for sustainable agriculture.
On this occasion, the group listened to lectures and exchanged experience on seed production, rice variety development, and using biotechnology to support plant breeding, important knowledge that can be applied effectively to making a living and developing agricultural production at the community level.
This welcome and knowledge transfer reflects the role of the Rice Science Center, Kasetsart University, and the APBT team of BIOTEC, NSTDA, as a hub for research, development and transfer of rice and seed technology to farmers and society, promoting agricultural self-reliance and supporting a strong and sustainable Thai agricultural sector in the future.
