On 21 September 2026, Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus, through the Rice Science Center, Kasetsart University, held a signing ceremony for a memorandum of cooperation (MOU) on global testing cooperation and eco-agriculture in Thailand with ObjetBio of the Republic of Korea.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chao Inprasit, Vice President of the Kamphaeng Saen Campus, signed the memorandum together with Mr. Kim In-seong, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ObjetBio.
Attending from ObjetBio were Ms. Kang So-lee, Senior Researcher, Mr. Lee Chang-Hoon, Senior Researcher, and Ms. Nittaya Wongchak, Interpreter, together with representatives of VCH AGRO SERVICE Thailand, namely Mr. Supawirun Chutiphapakorn, Managing Director, and Ms. Wimwapipha Chutiphapakorn, researcher.
From Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus, attending were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chao Inprasit, Vice President of the Kamphaeng Saen Campus; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siwaret Arikit, Director of the Rice Science Center; Asst. Prof. Dr. Sukanya Rattanatubtimthong, Assistant President for Research, Academic Services and International Relations, Kamphaeng Saen Campus; Dr. Siriphat Ruengphayak, Senior Researcher, Rice Science Center; and Mr. Nopphon Srimanhoraphan, research assistant, Rice Science Center.
The signing aims to set a strategic cooperation framework for field demonstration, efficacy testing and business development of ObjetBio's environmentally friendly seed disinfection technology in Thailand. The scope of cooperation covers field trials to demonstrate the use of environmentally friendly rice seed disinfectants to prevent bakanae disease in rice in Suphan Buri and Nakhon Pathom Provinces, and knowledge on environmentally friendly rice production. The cooperation reflects the promotion of cooperation among Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus, the private sector and related agencies in developing environmentally friendly agricultural technology and supporting sustainable rice production in the country.
After the signing ceremony, the executives and representatives of ObjetBio came to the Rice Science Center, where Assoc. Prof. Dr. Siwaret Arikit, Director of the Rice Science Center, presented the center's research. Dr. Siriphat Ruengphayak, researcher at the Rice Science Center, and Mr. Nopphon Ratsameechanphen then led the group on a visit to the research laboratories and rice research plots of the Rice Science Center.
