Hom Chonlasit is a cross betweenflood-tolerant riceand Khao Dawk Mali 105. Hom Chonlasit was selected to have Khao Dawk Mali cooking qualities, fragrant grains, year-round planting, and the ability to stay submerged for up to 2 weeks, so it suits central region paddies that are prone to flash floods. Hom Chonlasit gives a paddy yield of 900–1,000 kg/rai.
